The next UFWC title match will take place 4th September 2020 in Amsterdam as confirmed by KNVB after UEFA also presented the "Return to Play" Schedule for the upcoming 2020/2021 season. The dutch football federation KNVB decided to play all upcoming home matches in the Amsterdam Johan Cruyff ArenA - as currently all plannings are centered artound spectator-free games with a strict hygienic concept to ensure all possible measures to continue fighting the COVID19 pandemic. Netherlands and Poland are playing in UEFA Nations League Group 1-A jointly with Italy and Bosnia-Herzegovina. So far Netherlands and Poland played 2 UFWC matches versus each other, both resulting in a 1-1 draw and both played in the Netherlands.
The last UFWC match of a polish squad is already more than 16 years ago and took place 28th April 2004 when their challenge versus Republic of Irland ended in a 0-0 draw. Poland also did hold the UFWC title twice already, first time in 1982 and latest in 1989 when they won it from Romania, defended versus Norway and lost it to Sweden - so the polish are waiting since more than 31 years to reclaim the Unofficial Football World Championship title.
