Belarus 0-2 Germany
8th June 2019
Barysaw-Arena (12') 0:1 L. Sané
(62') 0:2 M. Reus Until this match Belarus appeared in 4 title matches without having scored any goals and losing all of them - would that change this time? The first minutes somewhat looked like the belarussian squad wanted to change their catastrophic UFWC statistics. So what to say? A close range goal from Manchester City's Leroy Sané killed any dreams probably. With only 1 goal in lead both teams went to the break, Belarus not showing a lot more action and never setting Manuel Neuer under too much pressure - he even showed off his football qualities by winning a dribbling duel close to the corner flag .... and after roughly 1 hour Marco Reus netted the 2nd one for the reigning UFWC champions. As also Germany's head couch Joachim Löw missed the match due to a recent injury his substitute assistant coach Markus Sorg can claim to have never lost a UFWC title match in his head coaching career. Next title match will happen on tuesday 11th June 2019 when Estonia will have their first ever UFWC appearance - will they be able to score some goals in their first match? Different to Belarus, who are now having impressive 0 - 13 goals conceded in 5 UFWC matches.... If you want to stay up-to-date on all things UFWC follow us on facebook or twitter!
