Uruguay 4-0 Venezuela

Montevideo, 18/10/06 An emphatic rout saw Uruguay regain the UFWC title from Venezuela. Vicente Sanchez and Diego Godin put Uruguay 2-0 up within the first 15 minutes. Sebastian Abreu made it 3 just after half-time, and Sergio Blanco capped it at 4-0 two minutes from time. To make matters worse for Venezuela, Miguel Mea Vitali was sent off in the final minute. For the next Unofficial Football World Championships title match, Uruguay will make the long trip to Georgia to defend their UFWC title. Georgia last played a UFWC title match in March 2000, a 1-1 draw with Israel not enough to take the title. The Georgians have recently been in Euro 2008 qualifying action, losing to Italy, Ukraine and France - but defeating the Faroe Islands 6-0. The nation is ranked just inside FIFA's top 100 at number 98, compared to Uruguay's number 17.
