Japan earthquake

The build-up to the next UFWC title match has been completely overshadowed by the huge earthquake and resultant tsunami that hit Japan at 0546 GMT today. Japan, of course, are the current Unofficial Football World Champions. News is still emerging, but it seems likely that the country will be mourning many casualties. The match between Japan and Montenegro is due to take place on Saturday 25th March at Shizuoka Ecopa Stadium. The Shizuoka province is south of Tokyo and is thought to have escaped the worst of the damage. However, on days like these football must take a back seat. Our thoughts are with the people of Japan, and others affected by this disaster. You can find information on how to help those in need in Japan and elsewhere from the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies.
